Mould is a microscopic fungi that grows on wet organic matter. Most common moulds are not generally hazardous to healthy people, but there are some types of mould that can cause adverse effects. This 3-hour course will help you identify various types of moulds and also equip you with strategies to control them. For mould hazards to be controlled, they must be recognized and assessed. To carry out these functions the joint health and safety committee/ health and safety representative(s) must have a basic understanding of how mould contamination occurs and how it can be remedied.

This 10-hour course will focus on how to conduct a job task analysis in your workplace and what tools and methods you need to use. The emphasis is on the physical demands aspect of task analysis. This course will be useful for the joint health and safety committee mem¬bers/ health and safety representative(s) who have, or are interested in having, input into job task design and other ergonomic conditions in the workplace. This course is appropriate for those workers who have taken the “Ergonomics: Injuries, Risk Factors and Design Principles” course and "Applying Ergonomics to Prevent Musculoskeletal Injuries" course.

Those who deal with the public face the greatest danger of violence. This category includes retail sales, food service, hospitality and transportation, as well as health and education services. Lorsqu’on accomplit ce qu’on s’est fixé, on en éprouve de la satisfaction et un sentiment renouvelé de confiance en soi. Cela nous incite à acquérir de nouvelles compétences et, par suite, nous permet d’apporter une contribution positive dans notre travail. On a souvent tendance à confondre les défis rencontrés au travail avec le stress. Il s’agit pourtant de deux choses distinctes. Pour que le milieu de travail puisse demeurer satisfaisant et productif, il est nécessaire que les travailleurs rencontrent des défis qui soient à leur mesure, alors que le stress nuit au rendement et débouche sur l’épuisement et la maladie.

La violence en milieu de travail est un risque professionnel pour la santé et la sécurité. Les études et enquêtes scientifiques sur la violence au travail ne datent que du milieu des années 1980. Avant cela, on avait accordé peu d’attention à ce problème. Il y a maintenant une plus grande sensibilisation des gens aux dangers de violence auxquels les travailleurs sont exposés. Les travailleurs occupant divers emplois effectuent des tâches qui les exposent à des risques. Ceux qui ont des rapports avec le public font face au plus grand danger de violence.
